The gift will arrive on the recipient’s doorstep beautifully packaged and with a handwritten note. No need to spend hours searching for the perfect gift. Afloat is currently live with local stores Kansas City and Dallas.
Below are the general delivery and shipping guidelines, but it varies by store. Be sure to check the specific delivery and shipping expectations (listed on each gift’s page in the app) to ensure it meets your delivery requirements!
In the Kansas City area, we offer same-day local delivery (unless otherwise noted in the item’s description) on orders placed before noon and next-day local delivery on orders placed after noon. For orders outside of our local delivery area, we ship from our Kansas City office via UPS 2-Day Ground to any U.S. address. Gifts ordered before noon will ship the same day, and gifts ordered after noon will ship the following business day. Depending on how far the gift will travel, allow 1-3 days for delivery.
In the Dallas area, we offer same day local delivery on orders placed before 3pm and next day local delivery on orders placed after 3pm. For orders outside of Dallas, we ship from our Dallas office via UPS 2-Day Ground to any US address. Gifts ordered before 3pm will ship the same day, and gifts ordered after 3pm will ship the following business day. Depending on how far the gift will travel, allow 1-3 days for delivery.
Most gifts on Afloat are ready to go, with no customization required. Gift offerings on Afloat are updated regularly to ensure each gift is unique and meaningful. To ensure that all gifts can be delivered or shipped expediently, we only offer customization on gifts that can meet our same-day or next-day promise!
Any customizable gifts will include instructions for customization on the store’s page in the Afloat app. You’ll be prompted to add your customization information in the special requests box during checkout.
Afloat is designed so that each order is recipient-specific. We want you to find and send the perfect gift for that one person. Fortunately, it’s so easy to send each gift through the app that you’ll find sending multiple gifts, one after the other, to be a breeze. Afloat saves your payment information to make checkout quick and easy!
Many of our local retail partners offer gift bundles so you can send a few great items in a single gift. Plus, you can add multiple items from the same store to your gift order. Everything will arrive at the same time, beautifully wrapped together with a handwritten note. If you’d like to send items from multiple stores, you’ll need to place separate orders, and the gifts will be delivered separately.
Each of our local retail partners will make sure your gift looks beautiful using their store’s gift wrap. The gift will then be placed in our custom afloat bags or boxes, complete with an Afloat hangtag and handwritten note. Afloat will pick up the gift from the store and deliver it right to your recipient’s front porch.

We do our best to ensure that items listed on the app are available. That said, there are times when an item sells so quickly that we can’t update the app in time! Any item that is not available when your order is placed will be swapped with a gift of equal or higher value. Our retail partners are gifting experts and will be sure to deliver a gift that you’d be proud to give. We’ll be sure to let you know if your gift was swapped.
